The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Switch 1-to-Switch 2 upgrade path stuff is genuinely so much more confusing than anyone even realises haha. Can't even get into it, but it has different implications for publishers and impacts things you wouldn't even think about. It's weird!

Yeah, I saw this, and the whole thing was fucking gross. They have the legal right to pursue cheat sellers, but that weird online bravado sharing body-cam footage of the serving, like they're the Activision Police Force, is gross and weird.

Theft aside - I absolutely love Gamescom, it is by far my favourite gaming event. I've been gutted to not be able to attend this year for the first time in a decade, due to my partner's health crisis keeping me home. Big FOMO! Hope to see folks at an event some time soon. ❤️

Multiple stories being shared of expensive equipment being stolen from Gamescom booths - both at indie consumer areas and business areas - despite the apparent presence of security. In some cases, it has cut developer's events short, as they can't show their games. Abysmal.

The GTA VI gameplay stream kinda proves the power of official marketing. There's nothing very exciting about the leaked footage and the way it's being shown. It's almost as if it's being shown in the most dull way possible. Marketing makes the sheer scope of GTA VI visible.

A small start-up is relaunching Twitter, claiming that the name and brand has been abandoned and can be reclaimed. Early Access for "founders" is currently paid. Partake at your own cost - I would say they're on dubious legal grounds. twitter.now

This is less Xbox doubling down on physicals, and instead accepting they'll soon embrace an all-digital future with a solution to not lock all existing titles out from a future console lacking a disc drive - an aspect Sony has simply skipped over. Still not great, but aye.

Anyone have any idea why this Arcade1Up cab is doing this? 🤔 Bought it for the boy to fiddle with to distract him while he's mentally not well, briefly played Ms. PAC-MAN, then it did this and it's all it'll do on start now. My purchase is having a net-negative effect atm 😅

Reads like a preemptive move to say "see, we even reminded everyone via email", should they be hit with a class action lawsuit attempt over the lack of ownership/game removals when they go full digital-only soon.

The #PSBlackout begins tomorrow for one week in protest against Sony ending physical disc production. Many fellow physical collectors are realistic, and it's a protest of principle. Lot of silly takes online - I don't know why you'd be angry about a pro-consumer movement! 🤷‍♂️

Step in and do what? Pre-warn everyone what the ending is? The GTA VI leaker seemingly having legitimate access to a build of the game is an absolute nightmare scenario for Rockstar, and I genuinely feel for those working on it having years of work spoiled.

Any time I see the slightest slither of light with my home situation currently, the rug is pulled away again. Absolute hope-killer. I am truly fucking exhausted and really just want my partner to get better. I'm tired.
