One more slash. Ardence cleaved his colossal sword directly through the pale abomination’s neck with a piercing scream, its bright white blood muted by the dark energy coursing out from the blade. With a great push, he sliced cleanly through, severing it in twain as the head squealed its last gods-forsaken breath.
Ardence breathed heavily as his heart pounded, surged by adrenaline. He looked upon his coat to see his whole body soaked in fluorescent fluid - not an uncommon sight, but a rather inconvenient one.
Brushing himself down briefly, he slicked back his soaked hair - beset with either sweat, blood or more likely a mixture of both - feeling the dampness through the gaps in his gauntlets. Sheathed his heavy sword, he took one last deep breath and departed the grisly scene. On to the next unknown, where another horrible beast likely awaited him.

With a recent heist against a snotty Ishgardian aristocrat not far behind them, the crew’s spirits were high, and none were more chipper than their intrepid leader.

One more screw, one more twist of the wrench and Renzo would be home free. It had taken the best part of a day to fix one detached piston on the backup ceruleum engine - the one that only needed fixing after the captain flew them straight into a storm. It's a miracle the main engine got out unscathed.
The last of his energy surged through his bicep as he made the final push… and with that, his work was over. Wiping his forehead from a few hours of accumulated sweat, Renzo picked up the old logbook beside him to note the maintenance.
