Every day, refugees and immigrants strengthen our communities as neighbors, entrepreneurs, healthcare workers, educators, public servants, volunteers, and leaders. Their journeys remind us that citizenship is more than a milestone—it's an opportunity to give back.
We're grateful for our partnership with Scouting America. They taught camping skills like making a tent and created texturized art. They also took the time to teach our students first aid skills including what to do in emergencies involving choking, heat exhaustion, and hypothermia.
After fleeing Sudan as a child and spending 14 years waiting in Egypt, Basmat arrived in Georgia ready to begin again. Today, she's helping refugees and immigrants find their voices and become leaders in their communities. #America250 #RefugeesWelcome

Strong fathers help build strong families. Through the New American Pathways Fatherhood Initiative, fathers are finding meaningful opportunities to connect with their children, strengthen family relationships, and build confidence in their role as parents.
Along the way, he has helped more than 30 people achieve their own dream of becoming U.S. citizens. From completing applications and documents to interpreting for older adults and preparing for citizenship interviews, Wat has walked with others on one of the most meaningful journeys of their lives.
For Wat, becoming a US citizen was the culmination of years of perseverance, determination, and hard work. His journey began as an international student and continued through practical training, an H-1B visa, permanent residency, and finally, U.S. citizenship.

Seeking asylum is a fundamental human right. Denying people the opportunity to seek asylum in the United States undermines long-standing humanitarian principles and puts vulnerable individuals at greater risk.
