40 km of trekking through high altitudes in the Annapurna region has left sore muscles & amazing memories, with unforgettable learning experiences of the community conservation initiatives conducted by the @NTNC team. The @uni_newcastle team was supported by the @NewColomboPlan.
The team from Uni of Newcastle learning about endangered gharial captive breeding on the New Colombo Plan funded Wild Nepal trip.
The Wild Nepal team learnt about the plight of man-eating tigers, setting up camera traps, methods of animal capture and then scanned the museum to see the fauna of Chitwan.
Awesome to be back with folks at the National Trust for Nature Conservation for the Wild Nepal program supported by the New Colombo Plan of the Australian Government and run through the Uni of Newcastle. Lots to learn about conservation here.
There’s a cool new book on conservation available for pre-order (at a large discount on US Amazon) - I know the author: www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/1032...
Some festive artwork from the Centre for Conservation Science at the University of Newcastle!
Just back from an amazing two weeks in Nepal with the National Trust for Nature Conservation and supported by the New Colombo Plan #NCP - rhinos in Chitwan and trekking the Annapurna. Amazing place, and awesome experience for 20 @UoNewcastle students.
