During its annual Informal Ministerial Network meeting on the #ICC, hosted by Austria, LI convened 33 States Parties, the #EEAS High Representative for Foreign Affairs & EU Commissioner on the Rule of Law to reaffirm strong political support for the Court.

H.S.H. Prince Alois exchanged views with Carl Skau, Acting Executive Director of the World Food Programme. They discussed: • Liechtenstein’s Support for WFP amid funding shortfalls • Major humanitarian crises and worsening hunger • WFP’s use of AI under UN80 • Global IHL Initiative

In #UNSC Arria-Formula meeting on international law in situation of armed conflict, LI: • Noted concern about the systemic targeting of civilians as a method of warfare • Supported #ICRC initiative to galvanize political commitments to IHL • Reaffirmed the vital role of international courts

At the UNICEF Executive Board, LI expressed support for: • Country, Regional, Global Program Documents: to deliver practical results for children • Future Focus and UN80 Initiatives: for efficiency, effectiveness, and coherence • National Committees: to catalyze individual and private sector support

In #UNSC Open Debate on #FoodSecurity, LI: • Urges an end to conflicts that threaten food security, including in the Strait of Hormuz, Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan • Notes that the intenational starvation of civilians is a #warcrime • Reminds SC that effects of hunger never truly end; prevention is key.

Liechtenstein expresses concern at all sanctions targeting the International Criminal Court, including against its President of the court announced yesterday. The sanctions are an attack on international law and on the independence of justice and should be repealed immediately!

In SCOD on Working Methods, LI •Reminds SC Members of their commitments including the #ACTCodeofConduct, and to the Charter, including Article 27(3) •Expresses concern over the SC's failure to agree on subsidiary body chairs •Encourages codification of a transparent selection process for the next SG

Liechtenstein and Botswana have established diplomatic relations. We look forward to deepening our longstanding cooperation and advancing our shared commitment to effective multilateralism.

On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, LI reaffirms that ending modern slavery/human trafficking requires a "follow the money" approach. The Financing Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST) Initiative mobilizes financial actors to eradicate these crimes, which affect over 50m people worldwide.
