It’s wild to me that 6 years ago people were absolutely apoplectic about schools using Zoom. They INSISTED that schools needed to be open, despite the health risks, because it was so important for kids to be in traditional classes. Now they are promoting this.

The profound part of Juneteenth for me is that before this was made a holiday, there was no official celebration of the end of slavery in the United States. When the 13th Amendment passed in December 1865, the legislators who witnessed its enshrinement imagined that the day would be remembered.
