It shouldn't shock anyone that rich white men with global power were able to exploit children with little consequence for so many years. What SHOULD shock us is how hard society works to pretend this is surprising. These men were operating exactly as systems designed for them allow.
The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP. Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP. The people who need help are not the problem. It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.
As seen at the #NoKings protest in Stroudsburg yesterday. Watched with glee and awe as the butterfly landed on this lovely woman's hair ribbon and my daughter snapped the photo. We basically witnessed the phrase "The only orange monarch I want to see" come to life. 🙂🇺🇸❤️
