Business update: Q1 sales were up 20% over Q1 of 2025, a new record post-COVID and approaching our all-time record. Once again our best Google Play quarter ever and our best website quarter since 2009; App Store was down a bit due to people buying bundles through website at a discount (thanks YGR).

Business update: Q3 of 2025 was: - Our best App Store quarter since 2019; - Our best Google Play quarter *ever* (driven in part by a 55% YoY increase in OCR); - Our best web store quarter since 2009 (thanks to a court ruling letting us offer discounted in-app purchase links to iOS users in the US)
This is 99% of the same story as Pleco 4.0; nothing went wrong, but we're doing fine financially and we like the work and want to get it right.
BREAKING: Silksong will be out on September 4. Two weeks from today. Really. Often, games that take 7+ years to make are plagued by mismanagement and painful burnout. But for Silksong? Team Cherry was having a blast. They still are. This is their story: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
The print rights remain with Harvard but there are no plans for a printed 7/e as far as we know; Wilkinson's revisions since February (which are extensive, he literally added his last citation a week ago) have all been on the e-book so a printed 7/e would likely be converted back from that.
only in e-book for now so our bookshelves are safe for the moment.
We just launched the new 7th edition of Wilkinson, this time as a digital-only version but available through Kindle and Apple Books as well as through Pleco. $59.99, or $29.99 if you buy it in Pleco as an upgrade from 5/e or 6/e.

Note: Pleco 4.0 beta does not seem to work on iOS 26 developer beta (the entire search screen vanishes when the keyboard is open). Regular Pleco seems to be OK aside from some visual glitches, but for 4.0 if you want to keep using that you should stick with regular iOS for now.
Gigantic news from the App Store world. (We plan to submit an update adding direct sales tomorrow) www.the-verge.com/news/659246/...
A judge just blew up Apple’s control of the App Store
The judge called Apple’s insubordination a “gross miscalculation.“

A big App Store change that might be relevant to some long-time Pleco users: you can now move purchases from one Apple account to another Apple account. This doesn't work for deactivated accounts, and it's not currently supported in the EU, UK, or India.
Migrate purchases from one Apple Account to another Apple Account - Apple Support
If an Apple Account is only used for making purchases, those purchases can be migrated to a primary Apple Account to consolidate them.

Support note: please do not ask ChatGPT questions about Pleco; ChatGPT, like all LLMs, is not a reliable source of facts and does not know very much about our app, and lately we’ve been getting numerous support emails from people asking ChatGPT questions about Pleco and receiving incorrect answers.
