I think people mistake Ideas for Vision. Ideas don't get devs excited. So if you need other people? You have a problem. Vision is an idea that seems *practical*. Doable. Developers need vision because they need an idea that has already been filtered through the reality of game development.

Like Widow's Bay, this show is so good that I often find myself rewinding scenes to rewatch them two or three times. That's super rare for me. This one is funny but mostly it's the dramatic emotional stuff I rewatch.
Man they really know how to lense her. This could be an MGM movie from the 1940s. The number of people who have to be really good at what they do to make these shots look this way is enormous.

The way they recontextualize Foyle and Sam's relationship in Foyle's New War is amazing. Yes, I am often aware that they are shoehorned into these situations just because the audience loves the two of them. But man, they really did the work to make it feel real and dramatic. Plausible.
I just watched Max (real name: Maximum Cat) knock a screwdriver off a desk onto the floor, which I've seen a million times, and for some reason this time I thought... "Is she trying to pick it up?" As in, she's seen me pick things up with my paws and is doing what she thinks I do. I think maybe!
“The orcs are moral creatures. They have clear notions of good and evil and these mean the same things to them as they do to us. “The puzzling thing is: this appears to have no bearing whatsoever on their behavior. And they have no self-awareness or capacity for self-criticism.”
The next to last season of Foyle's War has him sort of press ganged into MI5 as a counterintelligence agent. And the result is so interesting. Fans of the show mostly don't like these episodes and I can see why. It isn't really a whole lot like the previous six series. What it is though...
I already have ideas for how I would make this patch better. If all goes according to plan, I'll be live on YouTube this Saturday morning going over the patch and explaining it to folks. Maybe try some of my ideas.
Finally. I recorded and processed the data for a Gaussian Splat but the process of actually making a video out of the splat was so annoying I gave up. youtu.be/U_PIt3-y_Vw
If I knew I was going to live for like 300 years, I would totally do a Youtube series where I, and ideally a partner, would rewrite bad stuff like this just for fun. Like, what would it look like if these episodes were good? No idea, but I think it would be fun! www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWk_...

There's an episode of Foyle's War where a young detective constable addresses Foyle without being asked, and without calling him sir. And I've watched so goddamn much of the show, I thought "oh he fucked up." And of course Foyle immediately calls the guy out on it. And I'm like...

It seems like we got a reasonably high quality Dark Matter result from the LUX/ZEPLIN detector? Just one detection, but no obvious explanation other than a WIMP. Could be the beginning of something interesting! Probably not, because it's always probably not, but could be!
I always get scenes from 9 to 5 mixed up with scenes from this movie, which is maybe because it's basically the same movie? That came out the same year? Both starring Dabney Coleman as the villain?! www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-77...

Finished the last episode of Foyle's War (proper). My God what a brilliant show. I mean it's just a detective show. A police procedural. But it's so good. And it has such a brilliant Arc. What a great send-off. Just one of my favorite shows.

I redid the whole video because I wasn't happy with the patch. But I also took the ND filter off the camera, and now the text needs a background. So now I gotta learn about some Lumetri bullshit to get the video back into its darker state so the text is more fun to read. youtu.be/8KHPjSEiZfY

I love the fact that, just through language, you can deduce... 1: Where my parents were from. 2: Where I've lived since the age of 12. 3: Where I was born. There's also a tiny island near Indianapolis for "Where your grandparents were from."
Richard is going to score better than he should in this series cos Greg likes him. Yeah I said it. #taskmaster
I just had a real weird thought about the character of Christopher Foyle in Foyle's war. I was struck by how much he reminded me--not in behavior or attitude, but ethics and principles--of Barney Miller. Then I thought..."hang on..."
