HRI's Project Coordinator, Paulina Cortez, presented a poster at #AIDS2026. The poster shares data on harm reduction availability and coverage global trends. These services still need significant local funding and support to reach the people who need them.

The harm reduction movement can 👷rebuild, 💭rethink, and ✊rise. At #AIDS2026, we are engaging in discussions on how to enhance the accessibility of harm reduction and health services for people who use drugs, thereby preventing HIV transmission.

Punitive drug laws have a significant impact on the transmission of HIV. Criminalisation, stigma and discrimination block access to life-saving services.  Today, at #AIDS2026 we share a message: People who use drugs must not be left behind in the HIV response.
