I was very sad to learn of Maurice MacGowan’s passing. He was an extraordinary man with a huge intellect who was still translating Latin and Greek verse into his 90s. He was a wonderful husband to Therese and father to Shane and Siobhan. I feel immensely privileged to have met him.
