The two biggest changes I'm making for this part of the story in the au is Orrin's access to his abilities and spells. He still has access to the same ones he has in canon but he has to push past the block of the collar to use them, leaving him fatigued after. This makes it so he has to be more-

He still carries trauma from being held prisoner, most noticeably he grows a habit in the next couple of books of touching his neck were the slave collar used to sit to reassure himself it's actually gone, which I love! But I will be adding some more hurt to this part of the story for the au uwu

Book 3 probably have my favourite plot concept, with Orrin being held captive by enemy forces, separated from Daniel and their party, forced to wear a slave collar that limit his magic abilities, and being under constant threat of torture. But it is also my least favourite book in the series

I don't often make omega verse aus but if I would make one for I'm Not The Hero I would definitely make Daniel present as an omega. Not in the 'he's an omega who looks like an alpha but it still very much an omega' way, but rather he present as omega and went fuuuuck that!

Had to draw my favourite out of all of Orrin’s near death experiences so far uwu

One of my favourite side plots of this series is Orrin’s beef with the Hospital of Dey uwu Orrin’s mom is a doctor and Orrin himself has huge respect for anyone working in the medical field or devoting their time and energy to helping others in need

Lil offshoot of the au! Vampirism exists in the canon world as a mutation triggered by heavy use of blood magic. It’s not manageable or curable, completely robbing the afflicted of their sanity and mind. One of the very first spells Orrin learns is Blood Mana, which lets him to trade health for mana

Its wet and cold and she could honestly care less, just enjoy the fall weather uwu
