It’s sad that 4 years ago, when the City of NY and, disgracefully, our former unions tried to force 250,000 municipal retirees off Medicare into a for-profit plan, only lawsuits filed by @nycretirees.bsky.social stopped them. Now our fate lies entirely with the next mayor & here’s how things stand:

I think @nytimes.com can defend Mahmoud Khalil’s rights without running a softball feature with this error, which I pointed out but is still there: “Ms. Abdalla hurried up to their apartment to get her husband’s green card. She reminded the officers that he was a permanent citizen.” ?????
