a lot of my banger artworks came from referencing or tracing over designdoll & real photos to break them down into basic shapes or skeletons. same with studying what i like in other artists' works to get a feel of the process we generally dont have good photographic memory lol example: slush170

process in figuring out the pose for my bluberri artwork, slush170. 1. rough initial idea for pose with a stick figure doodle 2. a slightly more fleshed out sketch using basic shapes with volume 3. a traced then adjusted sketch using a design-doll pose 4. same as step three, but prioritizing bone and joint positions instead of the outer shapes 5. pose is then fleshed out again with another sketch with volume as the last step before cleaning it up for line work 6. final result

Use reference. I’m serious. I get it that somehow you or someone convinced you that using reference is “cheating.” It’s not. You are just hindering yourself.

if you wanna get out of the rut of constant self-doubt, you gotta reconnect with why you started making stuff in the first place and what you wanna do going forward. if you got into it just to impress other people, you're gonna struggle loving what you do and truly appreciating what impresses you.

Honestly That's not even the biggest problem with said platforms if you ask me What really cooks people is how much they reward uninformed opinions appealing to a demographic Even in smaller scale you see how it made communities awful but on a bigger scale it's been devastating in general

Being honest, i 100% believe tik tok is doing irreparable damage to people because the human brain was never meant to take that much information in such rapid succession, it's destroying people's attention spans. Sites like twitter & BKSY also do this, but i think Tik tok fries your brain faster.
