Ran nods, popping two pills of each in her mouth before swallowing dry. She looks at her hand, skin red and angry but her phantom pains are subdued now. She knows she won’t wear her hand for a while. She sways weakly, the initial adrenaline rush seeming to be wearing off.

She’s curled to the couch, bionic hand on the nearby table as she holds her stump close to her chest, groaning and sobbing. Phantom pains.

“You deserve it.” She smiles at the peck and kisses back, kissing her nose shortly after before watching her go. Ran prepares a stew while she waits for the water to warm, it’s an old building with even older pipes so the heating system takes its sweet time. “Baby? Your bath is ready…”
