I learned tons, always the mark of a great talk 🎓

Map of Chester, 1653 Chester is the county town of #Cheshire & has been much researched. This wonderful map comes from "Fenwick's History of Chester" published in 1896. The Roman layout of the roads is still largely unchanged, many of the buildings survive, too. A great map! #MapMonday #Chester

One of the most popular displays at Nantwich Museum is the Cheese Room. It’s believed that by 1600 local people were making cheese, with production in Cheshire peaking around the start of the 20th century. The exhibit includes a cheese vat, a cheese press & other cheesemaking equipment.
Tyne Cot cemetery: 1996, 2024. Pte Thomas Henry Roberts, formerly of the Cheshire Regiment. My great uncle. Killed in action at Third Ypres, I had no idea he was related to me when I took the original photograph.
