Took my own advice and completed my first sewing project from start to finish in a couple of hours yesterday! And I’ve been thinking about it and “planning” it since last autumn, too scared to mess it up 🤦 It turned out so perfect, I’m so proud of myself, and all I had to do was just do it 🫠

A photo of a red gingham lampshade that I’ve sewn myself. Another photo of the same lampshade but in its proper place in my blue walled kitchen with the light on. My ceilings are very low, so the lamp and the shelf (also diy) are not as high as they seem.

if you've ever thought about making art, do it!! please!! don't hold yourself to any standard, don't mourn the lack of any so-called talent, don't think about other people!! just start drawing, writing, crocheting, sculpting, sewing, crafting, taking pictures, whittling etc! stop doubting yourself!

"No trophies of my triumphs precede me. But I have lived well, and my ghost shall rest easy. Men are but flesh and blood. They know their doom, but not the hour." --Sir Patrick Stewart has passed away at 86. We have enjoyed many of his performances, including his depiction of Uriel Septim VII.
