Saddened to learn about the passing of Former Senate President Pro Tempore Sandra Cunningham, a fierce advocate for the people of Hudson County and the State of New Jersey. May she rest in peace.

Anyone that knows me knows I love sports. Typically, basketball or football, or even on the little league field as a coach. I understand the excitement that comes with having something riding on the game, but losing a bet should never be an excuse to threaten someone.
My statement following the Supreme Court’s decision to allow vote by mail ballots.
This year, we mark a quarter of a century since that tragic Tuesday morning, now 25 years ago. Long enough for children born after that day to grow up and start families of their own. Long enough for a whole generation of Americans to know September 11th not as a memory but as history.
You shouldn't lose your healthcare because you missed a form and you shouldn't have your SNAP benefits taken away because you didn't know what counts as volunteer work under H.R. 1.
Today, on Food Bank Day, I’m reminded of our extraordinary efforts to rein in food insecurity in the state. Together, we’ve made truly tremendous strides but none of that would have been possible without the help of so many every day heroes working or volunteering to keep their neighbors fed.

September is Hunger Action Month, and during my time as Speaker, we’ve made the fight against food insecurity one of New Jersey’s defining priorities. I’m proud to say that in the that time we’ve passed more than 40 bills into law to make sure our residents have nutritious meals available to them.
When I crafted the CAFE program with the EDA, this is exactly the type of project we envisioned—reviving a culturally significant community anchor that will spur economic activity for decades to come.

Just heard that New Jersey's RetireReady program has already helped 30,000 people save more than $25 million towards their retirement. Earlier this year we expanded the program so that more people can invest in their futures, even if you work at a small business!

In my time as Speaker, and before, I’ve traveled our state meeting with workers, labor leaders, advocates, and, of course, families, often hearing the same concerns.
Job-protected family leave is officially in effect starting today! For years, our focus has been on making sure workers can take time away from the job to care for a sick parent or child without the fear that their job may not be there when they get back.
In the Legislature, we know that the housing shortage has been years in the making, and that’s why we haven’t stopped finding ways to build more homes and lower costs for everyone.
I’ve been fighting for working families throughout my time as Speaker, which is why I’m thrilled that starting on Friday, NJ will expand job-protected family leave to nearly 400,000 additional workers—including many newer and part-time employees who were previously locked out of these protections.
New Jersey! 🌡️ We're looking at a couple of days of excessive heat. Please take precautions and check on elderly neighbors, family, and anyone without reliable A/C.
Happy Birthday to our former Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver, or as I remember her, my first Speaker. It was a privilege to serve under her when I joined the General Assembly, and now, years later, serving in the same position she once held, it remains one of the most humbling honors of my life.
