A happier version of Eudora Welty’s A Curtain of Green, though MeanCat does cause me endless grief.

Nothing much to say that hasn’t been said long ago: I’m a doofus and a terrible follow
Yay. Done with final exercise of my last summer class. Alien Baby Agent Orangey watched. A live hour-long negotiation with another student on a cool and complicated hypothetical scenario. I like these kinds of exercises cuz I never get nervous even when I should….anyway… Onward
Home. Wow. An 8-hour work day. Haven’t had one of those in a month or more. Have my last final for summer classes tonight. A live negotiation against opposing counsel/student on complex business hypothetical. In the meanwhile, sweet potato pie pup failed his ambush avoidance class final exam
It’s. The. Little. Kitty. and Just LOOK AT HER TAIL!!
Tuesday breakfast with all seven of The Eastside Orangeys: Chubba Wubbs Mommy, Standoffish Orangey, Creamsicle 3, & the 4 Favorite Teenage Orangeys (1 is aka I Love The Way You Look Up At Me). Gentrification Kitty & Imposter Limpers showed & got their own breakfast. We Love them all
Home. Got to speak w/ my former high school bandmate/my current US Senator, @warnock.senate.gov It’s refreshing to be inspired, not incited; urged to be better, not bitter. To live the truth that we all matter or none of us do. And all means all We can change it all for all for the good of all
I very much like the vibe and the greens and the shapes of this shade ‘garden’
Sunday breakfast with the five boys of The Eastside Orangeys. Healthy and happy gang. Theresa said all seven were there yesterday for breakfast. We love them. We Are The Eastside Orangeys
Home. 13-hour work day. All good. So much homework to do tomorrow and then a few more hours of work. I make terrible life choices. MeanCat reminds me of that every chance he gets. He SLOWLY escorted me across his lands and into his house.
Home. That was a 15-plus hour day. Worth it. Good day for our neighbors. More to come. Back at it early. Focus and grind.
The halting rhythm and middle-of-sentence pauses are gorgeous in REM’s Country Feedback. Here’s a demo of the song they did 35 years ago. This flower is scorched This film is on On a maddening loop These clothes These clothes don't fit us right
Every morning I feed and love on mom’s kitties: Blondie 1, Blondie 2, Girl Kitty, and Step Daddy (blacky whitey). Look at how lovey Blondie 1 has gotten!!
Friday breakfast with four of The Eastside Orangeys. Plus Imposter Limpers. Theresa said the girls were there yesterday. It’s just so grossly humid and hot even at 5 in the morning that they don’t want to eat much. Lots of fresh cool water, though! All are happy and healthy. And that’s the point.t
Home. Long day. Back at it early. It’s called a grind for a reason
Home. And that was rude today. 100 degrees and doing search warrants in the full sun. Sweated through shirt (that was once pale blue but now darker cuz it’s soaked) AND sweated through pants and probably shoes and maybe my bones. Wow. That was anti fun
Wednesday breakfast with the four nice stinky boys of The Eastside Orangeys. Creamsicle 3, and Favorite Teenage Orangeys 2, 3, & 4. 1 aka I Love The Way You Look Up At Me wasn’t there, which meant it was a love fest with no hissing etc. he’s a punk. These guys are always TAILS UP
Chief Justice Grumpy Face Blacky Whitey of The Court of Appeals for the Skinnerville Circuit at rest. Such a wonderful legal mind.
MeanCat absorbs the insane heat and turns it into murderous plots involving me.
Lemon-ey has around 80 babies. They will yellow as they ripen, ripe around Thanksgiving or a bit after.
In its 11th year now, our olive tree “Olive-ey” is covered in olives. Actually enough to consider harvesting them and brining them in a few months.
Checking the shed-whulll, I see that my last summer class ends August 9th. And fall classes don’t start until…August 19th..whatever will I do with 9 days, goodness me, an embarrassment of riches with so much time between grinding classes…ooooh
Some photos are perfect, in that they captured the whole essence & reality of the subject. This is one of those photographs. A few days after The. Little. Kitty came into our home in 2021, she was in bed leaning against The Baked Potato and looking at me like this.
Home at a decent time. Rare this summer, for sure. Between work, school, and life, I’m somewhat busy. Entirely the result of my choices so I really can’t complain to the manager…anyway, these zinnia are almost seven feet tall! I’m growing blooms for satellites, I suppose, cuz I sure can’t see them
