Mijn hond heeft een grafhekel aan regen. Hij verdomt het eenvoudig om er door te lopen. Nu overleg ik met hem om een regenjas voor hem te kopen. Hij twijfelt. Dat begrijp ik, het bevestigt natuurlijk zijn sissiegedrag. Enfin, we hebben het er in de komende dagen nog even over.
Overmorgen is mijn vader 33 jaar geleden overleden. Ik ben intussen ouder dan hij werd. Dat is nog steeds een raar gevoel. Ik heb mijn enige broer ook overleefd. Alleen mijn moeder wordt een taaie klus voor mij. Ze werd bijna 91. Dat ga ik niet redden.
Dus de hoofdredacteur van Elsevier betaalt privéreisje van deze twee opperkneuzen. Je zal er maar werken en gewoon een serieuze journalist zijn.

Obviously this is a hilarious and obvious lie but it's instructive in that Trump knows he's supposed to care about this thing, and manifestly does not and cannot care about it, and so he has to put himself into the story just to make it something he can talk about. He almost died that day!
