SFP modules have a somewhat convoluted way of driving LEDs so we decided to just wire those signals to GPIO pins and drive LEDs through a custom userspace script. Ultimate flexibility 💪
Turns out enabling watchdog in u-boot might not be a good idea. More trouble (later in Linux), than it's worth.
Big win for the day. Developed self-tests for each and every chip on the board. The result might not look like much, but there's probably a 1000 lines of code to make sure every device is properly initialised and running.
