After 3 years at PEGO, Anu Seiler had her last day of work yesterday. We are thankful for all her valuable work and dedication over the past years! She will be starting an internship at SIF (State Secretariat for International Finance) and we wish her all the best for this next position!

How can Switzerland design effective and coherent policies to address plastic pollution? ♻️ 💡 Next week on June 11, experts will come together at the University of Bern for a half-day workshop on Swiss plastic policy.

This week, PEGO member Annika Krüger presented the first results from her PhD research at the European Geosciences Union Conference! 🔥 Her work is exploring the management and governance of wildfires in Switzerland, focusing on the collaboration and cooperation between different actors.

How is evidence used in pesticide regulation policymaking? 🌱 In a new blog post and a corresponding article, this question is addressed by comparing the use of problem-oriented evidence and solution-oriented evidence during parliamentary discussions in Switzerland on pesticide regulation.

How does one effectively manage plastic pollution? ♻️ Two PEGO members, Marlene Kammerer and Anastasiia Nikolova, are trying to find out. Their field work has taken them from Nepal to Malaysia where they are now currently on the island of Borneo in the Malaysian town of Semporna.
