If you've not seen Here, umm, here it is. It's so simple, apparently inspired by McGuire thinking about these new-fangled windows on his computer screen, but it explodes how people started thinking about composing meaning on the page. Really a seminal work & I share w/all my classes & refer to often

two pages from Here, both organized in 2 by 3 regular square panels, but as the panel goes on, there are multiple small panels layered on the larger panels. All of them show the same corner of the same living room, but at different points in time (all labeled with the year) including times before the house was built and times after it is gonetwo pages from Here, both organized in 2 by 3 regular square panels, but as the panel goes on, there are multiple small panels layered on the larger panels. Literally the two dumbest motherfuckers I’ve EVER heard of are the richest guy in the world and the President, but my smart and cool friends doubt themselves every day. Your insecurities are fake. Your hang-ups are fake. Your limitations are fake. Go do whatever you want I promise it’s possible.

Yesterday my organization nearly lost over $200,000 to a phishing scam. Here’s how it worked and how we were saved: Our bookkeeper got an email ‘from’ our construction management company (aka owner’s rep) who oversee our contractors on construction projects. It had their SIG and looked normal

❌ "she's doxxing a trans woman" ❌ "men can be survivors too" ❌ "she's violating patient privacy" ✅ "she's fine with people she doesn't like being raped"

❌ "he wasn't the person targeted by the warrant!" ✅ "they fucking murdered a guy" ❌ "plenty of cis people need hormone treatments for medical conditions" ✅ "they're doing a genocide"

created an infographic to explain why arguing the hypocrisy of fascist talking points only helps erode your point. don't fight bad faith with good faith. don't engage with their point. don't meet them where they are. they're killing people. eat their frame.

an image using sprites from Kirby's Adventure from the NES

two series of animations

1st series. Kirby standing still and then runs into a star and gets injured. it is captioned "negating a frame reinforces it"

2nd series: Kirby encounters a star, eats it, and then blasts it out as a fireball. it is captioned "eat their frame"

if they say something and you say that's not true, your response is still shaped like their frame Your frame has to *contain and explain* their frame, not just contradict it. You have to eat their frame. Like Kirby

Hey. If a small press wants to give you a digital-only, royalty-based multibook deal for books that haven't yet been written, run. Lots of small presses use this royalty structure because they have no assets, and this allows them to offload nearly all risk to you.

This is NOT an “Exclusive!” Honestly, @washingtonpost.com, this is really gross. AZ local 12News had this scoop last week. When you steal work like this, you undermine public comprehension of why local journalism matters…AND your own *actual* source of info about what’s going on across the country.

Exclusive: Months before August’s deadly flash flood killed at least two hikers and forced the rescues of about 80 others, current and former officials say they warned that the fire-ravaged North Kaibab Trail posed safety risks. It reopened anyway. https://wapo.st/4AaYmke

Sometimes I think I don’t have anxiety & then shit like this happens & Im nauseous all the damn time cuz I’m worrying so much about shit So really I have managed my hermitty life with structured social & professional interactions so that I never have anxiety inducing experiences …like dating

toxic millennial trait: my social "big brother" growing up as a teen was a bi masshole gamer boy who regularly used "gaaaay" in an ironic gamer derogative meaning "that's so adorably twee & romantic & awwww how dorky" so my response to dating (?) a MAN (!) for the first time in a decade is "gaaaay"
