🌡️ Another 100°? Temps will soar near 100° in Denver today (record: 105°), and smoky. A chance for a brief gusty shower after 3p, localized 40-50 mph gusts possible. 🌦️ Similar tomorrow before a gradual cooldown starts Tuesday, with good rain chances returning mid-week. #COwx

And yes, I’m aware Denver’s monsoon has been mostly a bust so far (though notably it’s been solid in the mountains). Next week looks promising. Lots of moisture, subtle pushes of lift. That’s not a guarantee your house is getting 8.5 billion inches of rain. Just optimism. #COwx

Bad news: smoky blowtorch through Monday. Good news: relief is in sight mid-next week. Looks much cooler with good storm odds. That’s not a guarantee that your house is getting drought-drenching rain. It means it leans cooler, with better odds for dousing storms. #COwx

🌡️ Hot, smoky, and dry: Temps are back in the upper 90s in Denver today (record: 99°, 2025), and dry with more lousy air quality from wildfire smoke and ground ozone. 🥵 Even hotter tomorrow with a Heat Advisory and a high near 100°, no relief until mid-next week. #COwx

NEW: Most of Denver is now in the highest level of drought (exceptional) for the first time since 2021, and it's the highest % of Denver in drought on record. In other words: This is Denver's worst drought in at least 26 years. #COwx

🌡️ Here we go again: temps spike back into the upper 90s in Denver today (record: 100°, 1980), and it'll be smoky/hazy again due to Pacific Northwest wildfires. 😶‍🌫️Similar tomorrow and through the weekend, with highs near 100° with wildfire smoke and lousy air quality. #COwx

Official Denver low this morning updated to 47°...that means: 1) we broke the record low this morning, just 38 hours after breaking a record high and 2) we tied our biggest two-day summer temperature swing on record (55°, 102° to 47°) #COwx

Air quality remains moderate around the Denver area and most of the state. Not great, but not awful either. Air quality will probably get worse tomorrow/Friday as more ground ozone develops, along with another push of wildfire smoke tomorrow. #COwx

Smoke probably won't let up anytime soon, with another surge likely tomorrow. Steady NW flow = Pacific Northwest wildfire smoke gets pushed in and reinforced. That said, it should slowly improve next week as monsoon moisture works back in. #COwx

🌤️ Warmer and still smoky/hazy today, with a high back in the upper 80s in Denver (close to average for early August). Fire Weather Warnings for the foothills/mountains, gusts 25-30 mph there. 🌡️ Even hotter tomorrow (mid-90s), and back near 100° Friday-Monday. Yay. #COwx

Yes it's hot and dry for the next few days, but relief is on the way. Next week looks active. Does that mean your house will receive non-stop drenching rain? No. Does that mean rain/storm chances will be higher than usual next week? Likely yes. #COwx

All of Colorado's 64 counties are under an Air Quality Alert through at least 9a tomorrow. Been a while since that's happened. Wildfire smoke from Utah + Pacific Northwest is gonna make it rough out there today + tomorrow. #COwx

Depicting Jewish people with horns is a centuries-old, dehumanizing, antisemitic trope. Democratic Gov nominee Phil Weiser is outspoken about his mother’s birth in a Nazi concentration camp, his family members killed in the Holocaust, and the threat posed by antisemitism today.
