My quote of the day (A long one) Of all the traits which qualify a scientist for citizenship in the republic of science, I would put a sense of responsibility as a scientist at the very top. 1/n

I did it, I’m a doctor now! It’ll probably take me some time to process everything that has happened. I am so incredibly grateful for my community near and far. And I’m so proud of myself for this accomplishment. I’m exhausted, but so full of love ♥️♥️

Huge congratulations to @glopez.bsky.social on her PhD thesis defense today! A wonderful presentation from a wonderful person, and a much welcome joyful celebration of the science that is possible when we come together to support each other ❤️ Dr. Lopez!!! Well deserved

If you’ve ever witnessed an undergrad use a serological pipette for the first time or look at a fluorescent cell under a microscope, you know that watching students start to love science in real time is one of the best feelings ever. The attack on NIH is just a Thanos snap for tomorrow’s scientists.

Huge shout out to all of you scientists out there who are continuing to science in stressful times!!! 💪🏼🎊🧪🧑‍🔬👩🏻‍🔬👨‍🔬👩🏽‍🔬👨🏿‍🔬 Pictured: awesome postdoc @elizabethcrummy.bsky.social presenting super interesting data at lab meeting today re: neural circuits underlying active avoidance

OK Yinzers- it's time to stand up for science!!! I will be at Schenley Plaza TODAY AT 5PM. 🙏 please join me there! We need to let people know what's happening!🙏 And yes, I know it's Valentine's Day #StandupForScienceWithYourSweetie 💗💕🧑‍🔬👨‍🔬👩‍🔬💕 💗 Please repost and do something similar at your campus!🧪

Not that it matters much, but ~1200 of these were from CDC. I believe the 5200 figure is actually HHS wide. Could be some at FDA included in this as well.

Keep sharing your JOY ✨ Keep celebrating your PhD defenses, job offers, and awards! Keep telling us ALL the good things. Joy & Hope are what keep us going when things look bleak. They are also forms of resistance.

Mentors and advisors, a very impactful thing you can do right now is to assure your mentees from all backgrounds that you will continue to support them because their worth is not contingent on any program or funding mechanism 💕

Meeting @umarchatterjee.bsky.social was an absolute highlight of my week! #ACNP2024

It was a joy to meet many wonderful folks @ #ACNP2024 who genuinely wanted to learn about #RealOCD! Esp grateful for the openness+curiosity folks had toward my livedexperience+intersection w/research🙏🏾 For anyone interested in OCD+my story—resharing NIMH’s article!👇🏾 www.nimh.nih.gov/news/science...

Hey #ACNP! I’m an MD/PhD student wrapping up my PhD work at the University of Pittsburgh with @ahmarilab.bsky.social, and this is my 3rd ACNP. I’m interested in neural circuits of decision-making/cognitive flexibility in aversive contexts. Swing by my poster on Tuesday! (T249)
