I like to take a good movie and perfect it with one or two casting changes. My go-to example is: 'Crimson Tide', which saw Tony Scott at his restrained best. It could have been perfected by replacing Denzel with Andre Braugher. Denzel can chew furniture, but Andre was the smartest man in the room.

There are some shows that just make me gasp. Episode 6 of 'Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia' ends with two women, taken as plunder by the Mongol horde, vowing to bring down the empire by sowing dissension between the former emperor Genghis Khan's sons. It's haunting, breathtaking stuff.
'Draw This, Then Die!', about a high school manga club, is a wonderful paean to creativity. However, the true protagonist is not the kids but their teacher, who failed at her own professional comics career despite her talent, and is DESPERATE not to let her charges experience the same misery.
Today's moment of joy: stumbling across a classic car meet on the green in front of the cathedral. Classic cars polished to within an inch of their life, and lots of Old Car smell.
I see the Axanar film got taken down. I honestly don't know why, but I'm fairly sure Alec Peters didn't help himself with all his sniping at Paramount.
Today's a heavy day of working on prototype game components for the next 'Air & Armor' and 'Razor's Edge', our Falklands wargame.
In honour of Bill Oddie's passing here's his ISIRTA spoof from 1973, with Tim Brooke-Taylor as Captain Kink and Graham Garden as Scotty. Cleese is playing Sulu.

I marvel that this fan film got made at all. Possibly in spite of Alec Peters, who really should shut his yap and let the work speak for itself.

In a year of stellar animated shows, 'Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia' stands head and shoulders above the rest. Starting with the sack of the Persian city of Tus in 1221 by Ghengis Khan's son Tolui, the slave Sitara works to get her revenge by leveraging her knowledge of islamic scholarship.
How did that playground joke go? "Jesus saves, but Keegan scores on the rebound."
So, 'QuestWorlds' came out last year. We're currently working on a settings book for 'Ouvergend', a Tsarpunk world of thieves and revolutionaries. Also a book on the bronze-age world of Glorantha. Also in the works are 'Pioneer Space' (raygun SF), and 'Age of Miracles' (1970s superheroes in NYC).
So, I worked on this board game title and at last, my comp copy is finally out for delivery! Next title in the series? BAOR. After that? A title I'm NDA'd on.
The Odyssey is very, very good. It rents real estate in my head right now. Go watch it on the biggest fucking screen you can find.
Nothing to see here. Not in the slightest bit worrying.
