I write stories about conflict and borders and the people they impact. Just published a book about anarchists at war in Spain, Kurdistan, and Myanmar, previously wrote one about the anti fascist Olympics.Para todos, todo✌️ https://www.patreon.com/Jamesstout

The women's revolution in Myanmar goes largely unremarked upon in the legacy media, but these young women struck a decisive blow against the junta yesterday. They have built a world in the mountains where they could be free in a way the state there would never have allowed them to be.

The resistance in Myanmar successfully killed a junta aircraft yesterday with an fpv strike on hangars. This is a huge moment for the revolution, those aircraft have rained terror on innocent people for years.

Anyone who disagrees with this is having a laugh or out of touch. I’ve sold photos from my phone to countless outlets. I don’t take my big camera on trips anymore because I feel it puts a barrier between me and the people I’m writing about. I love to shoot with it, but it’s by no means necessary

I would highly recommend you do not get a camera for video, because the best camera that you can buy for $1200 is a phone. CNN, MS Now, PBS, CBC, Netflix, CBS, ABC, NBC all take iPhone. Anyone saying different is lying. Do not listen to this person unless you want to piss money away.

Seen a Waymo just sitting stationary in the bike lane the other day. Thanks California Dems for bringing yet another surveillance tool to our communities and making it even less safe for cyclists.

“If ICE is instituting this program to shield officers and the agency itself from public accountability, especially when information is already publicly available, then that’s a serious concern and flies in the face of our democratic values,” EFF’s Sophia Cope told @theintercept.com.

ICE Is Paying a Controversial AI Firm to Hide the Identities of Agents

In a leaked memo, an ICE official tells employees the new AI tech will protect them. Some worry it could be used to root out whistleblowers.

Fwiw a group I was part of submitted an NIH grant for push bikes more than a decade ago and they complained people might fall off. Also I think this attempt to divide e bikes into categories is not helpful. If you’re out there in the air and not in a car, I’m stoked.

Another 'e-bike' article in which the writer - in this case, a public health researcher - fails to specify whether they're discussing electric motorbikes, or electrically assisted pedal cycles (which actually provide higher intensity physical activity than walking). www.forbes.com/sites/bernad...

FWIW I’m not particularly interested in covering Milo’s immigration story. I am not going to clap for anyone being deported, nor do I think his story is more important or compelling that the thousands of deportees who get much less attention.
