I built a small thing for the University of Salzburg: A 2D visualization that displays artworks according to the materials they depict. Layout is generated dynamically using the UMAP algorithm. Pick different materials from the list, and explore new neighborhoods! material-wahl.imareal.at

Actually, there is a sharp line to be drawn between science and the humanities. The difference is methodological: The “scientific method” consists of publishing papers formatted in two or more columns; whereas humanities papers are arranged in just one column.
I have lit candles for the US in cathedrals, little churches, and temples in my travels since 2016 - not picky. 7 candles, 4 incense sticks all over Japan for two weeks. All to no avail. Thought maybe if I got more specific at a Tendai Buddhist temple at Nachi falls today…

Map shows travel time from Ancient Rome. You can see clearly that travelling by ship was much faster than travelling by land. The Mediterranean Sea is relatively small and countries all along could be reached quickly for trade and war. Source: buff.ly/2sahw9S

On this Labor Day, let us remember that it wasn’t the CEOs and billionaires who saved us during COVID-19. It was the janitors, nurses, cleaning crews, grocery and food workers with their hard, often invisible labor.

Wanted: **comprehensive** list or map of temples of #Artemis (and of other deities). #ClassicsBluesky #ancientHistory #ancientReligion please boost for reach
It would be good to be able to see a distribution map of her ancient temples, and compare it with similar ones for other deities, but I'm afraid I don't know of a source for something like that. Maybe others here do?
Very excited that the MapReader team will be collaborating w/ @bertspaan.nl @mradamcox.bsky.social & @openhistoricalmap.org on some infrastructural work linking up MapReader w/OHM & Allmaps! nlnet.nl/project/OHM-...

“I’ve got this thing and it’s […] golden”
Impeach this corrupt villain
Calling yourself a democratic socialist invites the shift to 'communist' in GOP messaging and even to 'Nazi' (national socialism), because they can rely on general ignorance of what these labels mean - for MAGA, but across the board. There needs to be a vocabulary-ed meme campaign. #OwnGoal
I’m interested. Other than the term “socialist” just what DSA policies to do so-called mainstream Dems oppose?
Claude-speak is striking sometimes: "...it's the kind of gap that surfaces mid-build, and the sufficiency test after increment 1, which is me trying to give the scope guard teeth rather than a sentiment." "...teeth rather than a sentiment"? Makes perfect sense but no human would ever utter it..
