Listen to those of us who were there. The denial and lies are so tempting, but the reality of COVID was worse than so many thought/think. Staying in denial and bargaining does not help, not with grief and not with healing. Listen to these stories so you can know the truth and stand against lies.

I am so triggered by RJK Jr's comment about ICU's being empty during #COVID. I re-read what I wrote after one of the surges. How do others forget. The trauma was--and is--real.

Truth spoken by @rubinallergy.bsky.social: "Turning one of the nation’s most accomplished physician-scientists into the central focus of political theater doesn’t help us prepare for the next public health crisis"

I agree with @drsandman11.medsky.social: If you didn't look like this & doing everything you can to prevent people from dying during the pandemic, maybe think twice before judging Dr. Fauci.

I'll never forget the staff how helped keep me alive. Or the ones who helped me learn to walk again in physical therapy. Or those who came to my house afterwards checking on my recovery. The dedication was real.

I did not work countless hours in an ICU full of proned patients and go back to my hotel crying because we lost more patients in a day than a typical week to hear a moron with a worm in his brain say that the ICU's were empty. I AM SO FUCKING ANGRY.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

The charges against the 3 individuals who were accused of vandalizing the reflecting pool have been dropped. Altho many of us thought the charges were baseless, the experience could have not been less than horrific for them. Such wasted time, energy, & resources.

Ripple effects: After Hearn, three others have their Reflecting Pool charges dropped

Prosecutors dropped their case against David Hearn on Friday, blaming Reflecting Pool damage on a "botched installation" rather than vandalism. That has implications for other people who were charged.
