I've started getting weirdly defensive on behalf of clowns every time someone calls someone in the administration one. Clowning is an art! Those guys train for YEARS! Most of us could absolutely not do what skilled professional clowns do!
I've hit the point where I'm just blocking accounts that post AI at this point. I don't need to see that crap on my feed, no thanks.

I got to work with her briefly on THE OCTOBER GIRL and if YOU ever get a chance to work with her, I highly recommend that you do. Her editorial career is just getting started, but she already has the goods.
Maya works her ass off and is so creative, warm, and passionate. She deserves nothing but the best and I am distraught I won’t get to bask in her light every day anymore. Every book she worked on was better for it. Comics may not deserve her but it sure needs her.

Thinking about that time in Japan, when Nintendo was undergoing hard times, its CEO took a pay cut himself rather than layoff the companies' talented workers. That's some exceptionalism I can get behind.
Working with Maya on the rollouts of The October Girl and Amelia Shadows was an absolute delight and I can't recommend her enough.

Layoffs suck, but there's something about comic industry layoffs that just really guts me. These are dream jobs for people. Often childhood dreams that against all odds have actually come true. And then poof! You're on your own. It's just crushing.
Anyone who gets the chance to bring Maya onto their team isn't just filling a marketing role--they’re gaining someone who can elevate the entire operation. She's a standout, and any organization would be lucky to have her.

Maya is one of the best in the business. Professional, kind, and always learning. She was a delight to work with and, in my opinion - as a writer with a ton of marketing/pr/biz dev experience - would be a great addition to any publisher looking to up their game. Hire her!

The recent layoffs at Mad Cave have been really hard to process. It's a place that felt like home to me for the past three years while we worked to get Beat Every 1-Up off the ground. Chas was one of the few editors I've ever truly connected with beyond just the work.
Sending lots of love to all those as Mad Cave who were unexpectedly laid off this morning. Extremely talented folks, some of my favorite to work with. I'm hoping everyone finds something new and stable soon! 💙

I’ve spent the better part of this year writing the rough draft for my second novel. It’s not good. But you know what? Writing it is FUN. And maybe I can make it better with the next draft.
