Three day weekend here in the States, which means as a freelancer I'm working anyways, but from home today. Which is almost like a holiday, but not really. Last few days of coloring on OG 4. It's now a race between finishing the book and getting too annoyed by all the stubble and having to shave.
A quick batch of simple French bread to have around for the week. Might do some baguettes this week, too, if it stays cool enough. #ComicBookBakingClub

Looks like this will post closer to 8pm. Helping a friend who’s having a medical procedure this afternoon and have to spend a few hours reading magazines in a waiting room before driving them home.

Another early morning at the desk. Very grateful for the extra floppy hair this morning. Somehow managed to pop a blood vessel in my eye while I was sleeping. It's fine. Looks way worse than it is. But at least I can hide it behind all this hair. On to coloring more snow and books today!

Random story: I designed the Hal Jordan Spectre costume and because of that, they sent me one of these toys, which I immediately held under my light for a few minutes and took into the closet. Because IT GLOWS IN THE DARK!!! That made me absurdly happy. Still does.

But without spoilers, I’d like to admit that I’ve been very wrong, and to acknowledge that a far more absurd choice was available & has recently been chosen.
Happy Birthday to the great Walter Simonson, who without even knowing it (or knowing anything about Doctor Who) helped lead me down the path to making comics with one single cover. And some little interior illustrations.
At the studio bright and early (so early that my hair is still wet from the shower) to face down another stack of pages. Actually made decent progress yesterday, though now I'm back to coloring snow. Hopefully my lucky sneakers will help.
I can't make it because I'm on deadline, but the incredible @cleanlined.bsky.social is doing a signing/LoSH #1 launch event at @thirdeyecomics.bsky.social in Annapolis tonight and if you're in the area, you should go! Been a huge fan of their work for a while now. Just incredible work.
I had some things to say about fellow WHO comic alumni @onegemini.com's new book, The World Between Us. He's made something unique and wonderful. Worth checking out, if you can.

You know the best way for an artist to show appreciation to your letterer? LEAVE SPACE IN YOUR PANELS FOR THE LETTERING, PEOPLE! Happy Letterer Appreciation Day, everyone. Now that I've been lettering my own work, I appreciate the letterers I've worked with even more. They're miracle workers.
