I recently did some minor cleaning on my (half)pseudonymous accounts. Watched in horror at some of the things I was putting on actual real name accounts >10 years ago, basically instant prison sentence now.

all these cool, amazing, awesome frontier models that can escape sandboxes and autonomously hack another company are unable to write a script that will reliably turn subtitles on youtube, hilarious.
I don’t really enjoy rereading my old posts. They feel too negative, too harsh, and overly cynical. I’m going to aim for a more positive tone and more constructive content.
It so funny (and healthy) to have folk self-mutilate because of some ideological reasons when the situation looks so obvious. Why healthy? Well, what if situation only looks obvious but there is a hidden non-obvious thing and _these_ guys will win? Well, maybe, we'll see.
I love the clear stratification in replies/quotes: "yeah, nice to have unreasonable people mark themselves like that" and "hell, yeah, I'm joining the movement of marking yourself by that based awesome mark"

manual coding is like going to the gym. you need lifting, easy cardio, hard cardio/HIIT, stretching, isometrics, etc, because each targets different subsystem/quality. Same with mental exercise: some high level arch/planning/strategizing, some low-level messy details, some code golf, some poetry

Small programs that are outstanding either because of style or new ideas introduced. Code you may print and frame on your wall.

It is hard to show a good story in an engaging way. "and then they solved more and more problems naturally with that new tech and everything went basically fine"
