The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

if people on bsky want an escape from that, a place to talk to others not only abt (or maybe not at all about!) politics but abt art, culture, food, sewing, literally anything, without being swarmed w assholes yelling at them for existing, that’s not wanting an echo chamber, that’s wanting to live

yes twitter sucked because of all the maga/nazi chuds, but an underrated amount of that was them barging in on talk abt movies, books, art, food, whatever. they infected every aspect of it, so if u were black, jewish, queer, trans, whatever, you couldn’t just live your digital life w/o dealing w it
