Your independent MP for Leicester South. Leicester is my heart, home, and commitment.

From Leicester to Westminster, the message has been clear: our data should NEVER be for sale. And now, Leicestershire Police is finally pulling the plug on Palantir. This is a seismic blow to Palantir’s ambitions. But not the end. We must break its grip on all public services.

Cancer can change a childhood in an instant. Around 2000 children are diagnosed in the UK every year. That's more than 5 every day. I'm calling on the Government to go further: invest in research, improve early diagnosis and expand access to the best possible treatments for all.

They said we won't make a difference. But make no mistake: your voices were heard. Every time I spoke in Parliament, I carried your anger, frustration and solidarity. This isn’t the end. I’ll scrutinise how these sanctions are applied and push for charges for war crimes.

What matters most to you in Highfields? Come along to the Highfields Forum and share what you want to see change, improve or be prioritised in our community. 📅 Saturday 19th September ⏰ Starting at 11am 📍 African Caribbean Centre Looking forward to hearning from residents then!

We welcomed Miliband's statement in the chamber today. Although it is too late for over 70,000 Palestinians, it is still not too late for justice for their ethnic cleansing, war crimes and genocide.

Mohan Bhagwat is now in the UK. If a record of rhetoric targeting religious minorities doesn’t cross the Government’s red line, what exactly does? I’ve written to the Home Secretary because we must ensure Britain never becomes a megaphone for hatred, division or fear.

What an incredible Made A Difference Awards! A huge congrats to all the nominees and our incredible winners. So many inspiring stories in one room with quiet acts of kindness, extraordinary dedication and people going above and beyond for others. That’s what community is all about.

Robert Jenrick is deflecting and distracting while Reform is knee-deep in financial scandal. Is it “patriotic” to pocket MILLIONS linked to foreign money to bankroll political power for the super-rich?

Nigel’s first week back in Parliament is off to a great start. Reportedly: £30k of party-linked polling, foreign money, trying to disguise a £500k funding source, and Farage filmed celebrating it all. The party of “law and order” might want to revisit the definition of “law”.

“Labour got Gaza wrong.” Those were Burnham’s words. Yet just weeks into his premiership, at least 10 military flights have left British bases for Israel. If Britain has nothing to hide, then there is one simple thing to do: explain. What is being provided to Israel? And why?

249 articles in just 22 days. More than two weeks after Professor Jason Arday’s tragic death, I’ve joined cross-party colleagues in asking IPSO to investigate the media coverage he faced. We owe it to Jason’s family to seek answers.

There are few words more devastating for a young person to hear than: “You have cancer.” On those journeys, Teenage Cancer Trust provides life changing care. But their vital services shouldn't depend on charitable donations alone. The Gov't must provide sustainable funding.

ANOTHER playground closure. How many more spaces will be forgotten before the council finally listens to local families? I’ve raised this at the highest level and I’ll keep pushing for answers, accountability and action.

St Matthew's Parks Day is always one of the highlights of the summer! Brilliant celebration of everything that makes our community so special. Thank you to all the organisers and to everyone who came along.

Every 4 years the world speaks the same language: football. The World Cup is one of humanity’s greatest unifier. That spirit must never be triumphed by corporate greed. Proud to be part of parliamentary groups championing football, where I will continue pushing for fans to be put first. Always.

This is not the time for political choreography. Wish-washy statements do not save lives. Britain must act: End arms sales. End military cooperation. Impose widespread sanctions. Uphold international law. And call it what it is: Genocide.

Schools and families are left picking up the pieces of a failing system. This was a £180 million Government contract that has delivered too many delays. Pupils will now receive results in the summer holidays, without school support when it’s needed most. I’m pressing for answers in Parliament.

Wonderful to spend time with the families involved in the Family Voices programme, making a huge difference by connecting parents with vital support services. I’ll continue to champion families in Parliament, fighting for the support they deserve.

Level of violence against our rail workers is unacceptable. My constituents work tirelessly to keep passengers safe at Leicester station but are pleading for more support. I raised this vital issue with the minister who has promised his support.

Now is the time to turn words into action. I welcome continued investment in Leicester's services, including the future vision for a new Women's and Children's Hospital at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, and I'll continue working to help deliver safer, more compassionate maternity care in Leicester.

The Gaza genocide isn't a distant headline. There's a weapons factory right here in Leicester: Elbit Systems. Why are Ministers meeting arms manufacturers behind closed doors, while the public is left in the dark? I've put the questions on the record. The Government now owes serious answers.

1.15 MILLION people aged 60+ waited more than 12 hours in A&E last year. This is a national disgrace. I'm backing @AgeUKs demands to restore diginity, safety and urgency to emergency care. I'll keep raising this in Parliament because this level of neglect should never be normalised.
