Here to post and read some posts with my friends! Mostly #Orioles misery, sporadic #Mets misery, surprising #Knicks and #coyg joy? 📰 -> oriolesreview.com

Shane Baz has been, by most measures, the best starting pitcher on the Orioles this year, and I still feel like he hasn’t quite put it all together yet. Very happy to have him locked up.

Enddy Azocar is 2-2 with a double and triple so far tonight for the Keys. That makes 9 straight games with multiple hits, and his OPS is up to .919. The kid can’t be stopped.

SS Wehiwa Aloy hit two home runs in the first game of the Boysox doubleheader yesterday, and walked twice in Game 2. It’s just nine games, but so far he’s holding or improving on his A+ walk rate, strikeout rate and isolated power. BABIP has come down a bit.

How could they not have at least grabbed a good reliever or two at the deadline? This is going to piss me off as long as they’re in contention, and even longer if they barely miss the playoffs.

Yes, “Chayce McDermott gets the win to send the Orioles to within half a game of a playoff spot” is a sentence I would have expected to hear if you’d asked me 5 months ago.

Tyler Wells comes on with runners on the corners and two outs for the Rays and gets a four-pitch strikeout against TJ Rumfield. Fouled off cutter, change, cutter and then swung through a very elevated cutter for strike three.

Loved seeing Christian Franklin get his first stolen base last night. But just to manage expectations, he’s not a burner. Average to above average speed, plenty of guys faster than him on the team. But what he does have is great instincts and a strong “baseball IQ,” and that makes him a threat.
