An enjoyable day exploring the oak canopy, tremendous insect diversity including these mating Big-headed Flies (Pipunculidae). The eyes of these bizarre-looking flies cover most of their head. A handheld stack at 1/1250 sec to keep things nice and sharp. #insects #macrophotography #diptera
