MacFarlane: Republicans didn’t get much of a bounce from that midterm convention they had in Texas. More and more races are now viewed as competitive. In fact, they’re swinging races in Texas toward Democrats at some of the forecasting agencies, including the Cook Political Report.
Cook Political Report’s Erin Covey tells Scott MacFarlane: "What I’ve heard more generally from Republican operatives is that the Midwest looks worse for them right now than the rest of the country."
MacFarlane: Democrats are poised to capitalize on something that all the outside money in the world can’t buy: A fatigue factor... There is a fatigue factor that’s hitting not just Democrats and not just independents, but even the right-wing podcast world is turning away from Trump.
