WTF is going on August 7, 2026: A federal court just blocked Trump’s White House ballroom without Congress's approval, Cassidy is a yes on Blanche, the US lost 23k jobs while Canada added 75k, and Don Lemon’s fighting to dismiss his church protest indictment.

BREAKING: A federal appeals court has ruled that Trump’s proposed White House ballroom cannot be built without congressional approval, affirming an injunction blocking construction. The ruling is stayed for 14 days to allow an appeal to the Supreme Court.

BREAKING: Bill Cassidy says he’s a YES on Todd Blanche, solidifying his legacy as the man who enabled RFK Jr. to wreak havoc on Americans’ health, and now the man who will let Blanche weaponize the DOJ like never before seen in history and cover up for Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.

Here's why this is so grim. Folks expected jobs growth to slow to +80k, but we got -23k. Also downward revisions to the last two months subtracted a total of -103k. So over the past three months, the US economy created about -200k fewer jobs than we had thought.

That's a big kick in the guts. Payrolls is much weaker, and the U.S. lost -23k jobs in March, well below expectations of +80k. Huge downward revisions, too: May now +63k (instead of +129k), June now +20k (down from +53k). Very bad news. Revise down your views substantially.
