… And here's our music maestro @ramonbraumuller.eurosky.social, snapped with the same Silicon Graphics digital camera. 🙂
Ramon Braumuller
@ramonbraumuller.eurosky.social
Composer, drummer and singer of “It’s Moonchild, wooho-ho-ho…”
Found this on my SSD. 🙂 It's a 480p snapshot of me and our coder @reiniervanvliet.eurosky.social, taken with an early digital camera, attached to a Silicon Graphics computer in 1995, not long before we started developing #MoonChild for Windows. Gotta love the scan lines and chromatic aberration.
Team #MoonChild in the late 1980s. 😃 I'm at the left, Ramon Braumuller (composer and singer of "Moon Chiild, oh oh oh ooh!" 🎵) is in the middle, and our Assembly coder Reinier van Vliet is at the right. As Ramon is a skilled drummer, he's holding a Roland Octapad, to make the photo extra cool. 😆😆
I'm missing a certain green fella in this epic list of speed runs! What is going on! Why don't they use their power to be his friend? bsky.app/profile/kota...
In The Midst Of The Horrors, SGDQ Is Here To Remind Us That Games Can Be Good:
I've loved @ramonbraumuller.eurosky.social's music since we met when we were 16. 😊 When we had formed a game dev team with @reiniervanvliet.eurosky.social, Ramon made a game demo tune in our SIDmon Amiga music editor. It's still one of my favorite tracks… ia600909.us.archive.org/10/items/ode...

Following the open source re-release of Moon Child and Hoi, we're now happy to announce the open source re-release of our 1994 puzzle game Clockwiser. We hope you will enjoy it again! Be sure to check the Demo mode for gameplay instructions… bitbucket.org/rhinoid/cloc...
Moon Child FE v1.1.0 is out, and the game is finally available for macOS too! This version also comes with a bunch of bug fixes and minor QoL improvements all around. mors-games.itch.io/moon-child-fe
In the release of Hoi I've added a small utility that converts the 'raw binary Amiga format' of the images used in the game, back to a format that can be read by a paint program (and back again). Although rough, it opens up a path for modding & tweaking gfx in Hoi (still very tricky to do!) 🙏
As promised: the tool we made to help convert Hoi! from Amiga assembly code to portable C code. The original Hoi! assembly files are included to prove it's working. bitbucket.org/rhinoid/conv... We hope it will help other Amiga devs to revive their old games and breathe new life into them. 💚
The wait is over: The version of our old game Hoi! from the Amiga, now running on Mac, Linux and PC. The repo also contains pre-build versions for both Mac and PC. You can find it here: bitbucket.org/rhinoid/hoi_...
Our 'transpiler' tool will be released very shortly as well. It will contain the original Hoi assembly files. So then anyone can: Alter the sources, transpile into c code, and compile it to a runnable game. Hopefully many other Amiga games will use it to rerelease old games as well. ❤️
💡 Before playing, be sure to read and memorize the Hoi tips that are accessible via the title picture menu. You can also customize the Hoi control keys via the same menu. Additional Hoi game tips can be found at the bottom of the ReadMe text in the source repository: bitbucket.org/rhinoid/hoi_...

Our 1992 Hoi Amiga game has been re-released, including source files! 🥳 Hoi was the predecessor to Moon Child. Prepare, it's a tough old school platformer… I mean… an exciting game challenge! 😉 MacOS + Windows executables can be found here (now with correct link 😅): bitbucket.org/rhinoid/hoi_...
I've set up a Moon Child and Hoi merch shop at @fourthwall.com. During careful research, I saw Fourthwall being recommended multiple times for their product quality and service. The shop is totally bare-bones now. Product requests are welcome, if available. Thanks! metin-seven-shop.fourthwall.com

This first will come out on May 14th, it'll be a shorter bonus release interviewing somebody whose music has been blowing up on Bluesky over the past month. That's right kids, we had a talk with Ramon Braumuller, composer of Moon Child, I look forward to you hearing it!
A spatula is excellent studio equipment.
the tapes are probably fine but my experience is that ADAT machines are a nightmare. tryed to archive some old ones and had to put a spatula under the tape and lift it up and down to try and keep the head aligned, gave up after the first 10 tries and wrote em off as unrecoverable.
It was all hardware at the time (no VST’s) My brother had quite the synth collection, so I probably used the Roland Jupiter 8, Elka Synthex, Korg MS20, a Dynacord ADS sampler, an original TB -303, a Korg Wavestation as my master keyboard and a few other rack modules I can’t remember anymore. 😂
Depends on the storage condition of tapes, but that's a shame regardless. Any chance you remember all the equipment used specifically for those tracks? Or well, the entirety of the PC version's soundtrack. What synths were used, and such.
The music for the cutscenes was recorded on an Alesis 8 channel ADAT recorder on VHS video tapes. Ancient tech. I don’t have the gear/tapes anymore and even if I did, my guess is that the tape would have turned into dust after 30 years… Sorry!
Was chatting in our discord about the Moon Child cutscenes, and was wondering if there's a remote chance of you having the original music files for them? Those musical interludes are specific to the cutscenes.
Working on Moon Child, I first had a darker background story in mind, where MC lived in a Gothic castle. I made some artwork to establish the mood, including a dark variation of the Amiga demo's title screen. Ramon created this cool track for the intro that never was… archive.org/download/Moo...
So the story WAS true after all @seven.eurosky.social #moonchild #wotalab
Decided to join the other Team Hoi members here on Bluesky! Thanks to Metin, I've seen wonderful Moonchild love from the community. Thank you all! ❤️
