Composer, drummer and singer of “It’s Moonchild, wooho-ho-ho…”

In the release of Hoi I've added a small utility that converts the 'raw binary Amiga format' of the images used in the game, back to a format that can be read by a paint program (and back again). Although rough, it opens up a path for modding & tweaking gfx in Hoi (still very tricky to do!) 🙏

Image with all kinds of small elements that are the building blocks to create a level.

Our 'transpiler' tool will be released very shortly as well. It will contain the original Hoi assembly files. So then anyone can: Alter the sources, transpile into c code, and compile it to a runnable game. Hopefully many other Amiga games will use it to rerelease old games as well. ❤️

This first will come out on May 14th, it'll be a shorter bonus release interviewing somebody whose music has been blowing up on Bluesky over the past month. That's right kids, we had a talk with Ramon Braumuller, composer of Moon Child, I look forward to you hearing it!

It was all hardware at the time (no VST’s) My brother had quite the synth collection, so I probably used the Roland Jupiter 8, Elka Synthex, Korg MS20, a Dynacord ADS sampler, an original TB -303, a Korg Wavestation as my master keyboard and a few other rack modules I can’t remember anymore. 😂

Depends on the storage condition of tapes, but that's a shame regardless. Any chance you remember all the equipment used specifically for those tracks? Or well, the entirety of the PC version's soundtrack. What synths were used, and such.

The music for the cutscenes was recorded on an Alesis 8 channel ADAT recorder on VHS video tapes. Ancient tech. I don’t have the gear/tapes anymore and even if I did, my guess is that the tape would have turned into dust after 30 years… Sorry!

Was chatting in our discord about the Moon Child cutscenes, and was wondering if there's a remote chance of you having the original music files for them? Those musical interludes are specific to the cutscenes.
