Our paper on the Evolutionary Imbalance Hypothesis (with data from my PhD looong time ago!), led brilliantly by @drjoshbrian.bsky.social, has been out in EcolLetters for a bit -now also with a short video on it! Saw *Takahashia japonica* (at least I think so) for the first time at an Italian service area on our way to Sardinia — weird white worm-like strands covering a mulberry tree. Apparently this invasive scale insect is spreading through Europe. Never seen anything like it in 🇨🇭 before - so bizare! 🌿

#Climatechange is causing #marmots to move, but not far: this is the conclusion of a recent study by #SLF biologist @annekempel.bsky.social. 🦫 Climate change has had only a minor impact on marmots near Davos – for now! Using a 40-year-old dataset, we resurveyed marmots along an altitudinal gradient. They now live ~86 m higher, but range margins are unchanged. More here: www.slf.ch/de/news/klim... @slfdavos.bsky.social #AlpineEcology
