U.S. Commission on Civil Rights official page. An independent, bipartisan, fact-finding federal agency informing civil rights policy via research, reports & recommendations to POTUS & Congress.

Today marks the 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. This landmark law helped remove unfair barriers that kept many Americans, especially Black Americans, from voting. It also created federal protections to help ensure that eligible citizens could take part in our democracy.
