Late Postclassic Maya polychrome ceramic censer from Mayapan, Yucatan (1250-1530 CE) depicting a monkey-scribe. It preserves vibrant turquoise, red, and green pigments. Associated with writing and knowledge, the deity wears a feathered headdress and holds a shell-shaped bowl.

Climate change is more publicly tangible than respected scientists expected, at this stage. Scientists tend to give conservative estimates, so as to be treated seriously. It’s not good for the planet that the change is so obvs at this stage. There can be no question of climate denial now*

Such a bad idea. Public transport should be free & green. The people who use it in Dublin are dominated by those least able to deal with price rises. We need ppl out of cars & into public transport! There needs to be a service that is practical* & free! Bus and train fares for adults to increase

One of the weird things on here is the obsession of some Canadian accounts [or who claim to be Canadian*] with the orange pustule. I got rid of my newspaper app I was so tired of hearing idiocy about him. Yet these accounts post everytime he says anything silly! Which is annoying! [1]

An open call for tulips who love being ableist & use lack of Alt Text to bash ppl who are going blind & find Alt Text difficult. Before sneering at someone who doesn’t use Alt Text consider that they might have a bloody good reason & your reminding them of their impending blindness is nasty.
I’ve noticed a fairly sizeable number of accounts ‘sharing’ other people’s art. Sometimes they include the artist’s name. ▪️I have never yet seen them include a link to buy, or a review of the work. ▪️They never >repost< artist’s work on here. It’s theft* & it’s incredibly offensive.
A lot of corporate LGBTQ marketing is designed to show straight ppl how ‘liberal’ & ‘progressive’ the company is. Indeed most have abandoned such ‘support’, showing how cynical it was! This Irish bank gets it tho! The campaign talks to Queer ppl, not uses them. Safety matters for minorities.
