Imo 3-star reviews are the absolute best reviews a book can get, especially as an indie author. You get a good feel for where your strengths and weaknesses are. You're basically being told "it's not perfect and needs a lot of work, but you have something worth reviewing." #books #writing #author

(THREAD) One thing I learned over the course of the last 5 years as a creator is to have multiple avenues to express yourself. I started my journey as a visual artist but dipped my toes into writing scripts and novels throughout. Flexibility allows for freedom. #artists #writers #creators

September 2026 marks the 5th Anniversary of my starting to release my work regularly, and despite the setbacks stumbles and tragedies I've faced along the way, I'm still here and still creating! 😎 Thank you all for sticking it out with me!

In light of recent legal proceedings, assume any and all AI bros (AIvangelists as I like to call them) are sick freaks and treat them accordingly. #ai #antiai

Today reinforced my belief in community. When facing a family tragedy, there is no better feeling than having a bunch of friends randomly show up at your doorstep with flowers, even if you hadn't yet told them directly. This is why I prefer writing stories about communities, honestly.

As time goes on I've grown tired of fantasy stories having to do with cursed bloodlines or the idea that someone is more/less special because of hereditary traits. The ability to do the extraordinary belongs to all people. All it takes is a willingness to learn and willpower. #fantasy #writing

Lately there's been a lot of talk about "distraction free" technology in the writing community. I keep seeing things like the Freewrite making the rounds, so for writing scripts I decided to pick up an old friend: the ol' 2004 iBook G4! #writing #wrtingcommunity #books

We need to stop treating video games as outdated software and more like proper art such as classic film, literature and paintings. I honestly would be totally okay if there was a moratorium on game development, especially AAAA slop. There's plenty of great stuff to play! #games #gaming #retrogaming

Paramount: take movie out of theaters and go straight to streaming on a service not available in most countries Also Paramount: put it in only two theaters to qualify for an Oscar #movies #film #streaming

Hot take, but you can usually tell an author (or artist in general) has run out of ideas when they start doing the media analysis/culture war grift, especially when a video is 3 hours long or has an inflammatory thumbnail with red circles LOL #art #writing #books #authors

TLN Saga will be shifting in the near future, As much as I enjoyed writing in the mythic style for Vol. 1 and 2, I feel like the medium is limiting my ability to tell this story in the way I've always wanted to tell it: through visuals (see below for more). #writing #books #comics

Hey folks! I'm happy to announce that the last major draft for The Lost Nation Saga Vol. 2 has been completed Whilst still in the process of doing edits, I'll be adding the illustrations and I'm hoping to release it before the very end of 2026! #writing #books

I normally don't like to take potshots, but watching 3 different indie horror movies Iron Lung, The Backrooms and Obsession completely destroy Shelby Oaks critically and financially is hilarious. "I worked hard on this" and YouTube stardom is not a valid selling point. Git gud. #movies #film

One of the worst things that could ever happen to a writer (imo) is when you write a villain that's supposed to be an obvious warning, only to get appropriated by an incel. You ain't sigma, fam. #writers #writing

I have a theory about Gen Alpha. They didn't create AI, they were born into it, and one thing we all know about teenagers (which the oldest Gen Alpha is 15 btw) is that they rebel against the status quo. Gen Alpha will usher in the IRL Butlerian Jihad.

R.I.P to Tom Kane. The man's filmography was truly stunning, but I will always remember his intros getting me pumped for each episode of the Clone Wars. I'm so happy he got a good send-off with the pilot episode of The Bad Batch. ~See you space cowboy #StarWars

Friendly reminder that you don't need to be an industry professional to pursue art or be considered a valid artist. Art belongs to the people, not corporate execs (who will feed your creations to AI anyway). To quote a wise man: "JUST DO IT!" #art #artists #writing #writers

I can't express enough how excited I am to start serializing Volume 3. My saga has been in the "ancient" arc since 2021, but the "modern" arc is where it all began in 2009, and now we're here at last! I'm almost tempted to retitle Vol 1. and 2. as the "Ancient Duology" but meh...too lazy.

The annoying thing with doing scale-accurate character sheets is that I'm now working with a CSP project which is 14k in size. I need to upgrade my PC's RAM but....that's not happening anytime soon with these inflated prices LOL

D2D is pulling out the subscriptions. $12/yr isn't the worst, but still annoying. I'm so glad I spent the last 5 years teaching myself how to create ebooks and formatting PDFs instead of being dependent on others. I will NEVER bow to trad publishers. Knowledge is freedom! #books #selfpublishing
