Friends, I have some big news! @creativescots.bsky.social have awarded me funding to finish writing my next book, Inside David Lynch's Hair! Thanks, Creative Scotland! The book will be collection of 78 (one for every yr of his life) v.short surreal narratives all based in the landscape of DL’s hair.

The prize is named after the diarist W.N.P. Barbellion, who wrote eloquently on his life with multiple sclerosis (MS). It is a cross-genre award for literature published in the English language. Information about eligibility can be found in the Terms and Conditions section of our site.

We have received some fantastic submissions, mainly from the US and UK, but are open until September 1st and are hungry for more! The Barbellion Prize celebrates and promotes writing that represents the experience of chronic illness and disability.
