Water firms made £340m+ from it. Works can’t remove most chemicals in contaminated Heathrow wastewater. PFAS anyone? It ends up in rivers, seas, farmland. With River Action I built a database of 26,000 consents to show the scale. And mapped it: watershedinvestigations.com

We used to make shit, build shit in this country. Now we put our hand in the next guy's pocket. Or so I was once told. This shit is going to make the mortgage-backed securities scandal look like a time of modulated economic growth and sober investment opportunity.

Kalshi has reportedly launched an investigation into a series of bets on Trump’s startling new selection for White House press secretary.

WH press corp pool coverage has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Sherman Act. But the NYT makes sure to be stenographers first and reporters last--the 4 byline piece (4 reporters to do stenography?), frames this as a both-sides dispute, instead of the totalitarian action that it is.

BREAKING NYT: The Trump Justice Department is investigating whether the major television networks — ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox — violated federal antitrust laws when the group briefly suspended their pooled coverage of Trump, according to six people with knowledge of the department's action.

Justice Dept. Is Investigating TV Networks Over Trump Pool Coverage

Major TV networks were notified on Friday that the department was looking into whether they violated antitrust laws when they suspended pool coverage of President Trump.

It would be great if the U.S. media did some investigative reporting on our own President, who dozes off constantly in public, has bruised hands, swollen ankles, and saw no less than *22* doctors at his last visit to Walter Reed.

My investigators have confirmed the Trump administration is hiding interview documents it conducted with some of Epstein’s banks, and there could be more. There’s no limit to how far Scott Bessent, Kash Patel and Todd Blanche will go to continue this cover up.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Sen. Ron Wyden says the DOJ and FBI withheld a secret interview with a banker tied to Jeffrey Epstein from the files released to the public. And he says there may be more.

In the age of technology, we all expect that every conversation will be recorded. But that isn’t true. A lot of records come from the recollections of someone in a position of power. And we know that investigators—including police and Title IX—severely overestimate the amount of false allegations.

It’s weird to see so many higher education leaders beat their chests about “the decline of trust” from the public while refusing to acknowledge the conservative movement organizing to destroy it. Imagine someone stabbing you repeatedly while you complain about not having enough blood to bleed out.

I don’t think everyone realizes how bad things are for US science: For the fiscal year that just ended, the Trump regime withheld $1.4 billion from the National Science Foundation’s research budget, which is about 1/5 of its primary research budget.

The NY Times says it’s “not clear“ why Trump is using taxpayer funds and not money from his super PAC for his self-glorifying ads. But it’s clear to me. It’s because HE‘S A CROOK.

It was not clear why taxpayer funds, and not money from the super PAC, were used for the spots.

We can talk about re-engineering government <after> we: - Restore all the NIH/NSF funds - Restore at the Dept. of Education Title VI/FLAS funds - Rebuild USAID - Hire back as many of the fired federal workers as possible & replace those we can't with new talent as fast as possible - Etc. - Etc.

If the lessons Democrats (& democrats) draw from DOGE is “right idea, wrong implementation,” we are doomed. Everyone involved in the unprecedented crime that was DOGE needs to go to jail forever, & Democrats need to rebuild all of the programs & agencies first, not do digital management consulting 🤦‍♂️

The Washington Sun@washingtonsun.com · last wk.

DOGE overhauled the federal workforce and slashed government spending — moves that inspired nationwide protests and lawsuits. The backlash has given Democrats nationally an opportunity to reclaim the government efficiency mantle.

Mostly, what the article describes is a good idea - and if it can be done legally already, do it as part of rebuilding. It will only be bad if we skip the “investigate and prosecute DOGE” part. This part is worrying. Musk’s biggest “aircover” was that he broke the law!!
