One of the most important lessons I've learned as I've gotten older is that "cringe" is GOOD, actually. "Cringe" is often used derisively to mock things like honesty, vulnerability & sincerity. Silly me, I think those are all VERY important things to be. I'll take cringe over cynicism any day. 🖤
The best artists master their craft, while cultivating ideas. When people say things like "you either got it or you don't" they are self mythologizing to make them feel special. Art is work, like any other type of skilled work.
