People need to see graphic imagery from conflicts in the news they consume, offline and online. Because most people ignore words but they can't ignore broken, bleeding human bodies - or pieces of them. And if it shocks and upsets them that is nothing compared to what the victims went through.

About as many refugees and migrants have drowned in the Atlantic and Mediterranean 'illegal' immigration boat routes to Europe since 2014 as Ukrainians have died in the conflict in Ukraine in the same period. Since 2015 European countries have deliberately allowed people to drown as a 'deterrent'.
