This last week was a whirlwind: - Daily reels on my IG and Tobi’s IG to get people to see Tobi exists - Updated the website in prep for launch - Blog started on Tobi’s website for SEO - Suggestions going into the app - 1st AB test of onboarding into Tobi #shipaton

Nobody hands you a manual when you buy your first home. Who do you call when a pipe bursts. How often are you supposed to clean your dryer vent. What's the filter size for your HVAC.

A monorepo was the right choice for Tobi. It uses Firebase as the backend, Swift/SwiftUI for Apple apps, and Astro for gettobi.com. Keeping everything in a mono repo, means the LLM can easily grab the context it needs to across domains. I think it really sped up my dev time. #shipaton #buildinpublic

Tobi — Home Maintenance App for the Whole Household

Tobi is a home maintenance app the whole household shares: one log of every task, the electrical panel schedule, and reminders so upkeep never lapses.

Such a nice little article explaining the difference of the group modifiers nilcoalescing.com/blog/Geometr... I used the drawingGroup() in onboardings on pieces of UI that I need to render statically. It felt like a cheat code when I found it for Camp Notes onboarding.

Geometry, compositing and drawing groups in SwiftUI

Learn how SwiftUI's similarly named geometryGroup(), compositingGroup() and drawingGroup() modifiers affect distinct stages of animation and rendering, and when each is appropriate.

Make sure you're adding analytics to your product for #Shipaton if you want to measure the growth and impact of your changes. Can't prove you've improved over time without the numbers. Also analytics really helps prove to yourself that what you're adding is working for your users.

I added Greptile into my workflow as I've been ✨ vibe coding ✨ more. It's a great addition catching some security errors and some logic errors. It's also keeping me a bit updated on what's acceptable Typescript 😬 #buildinpublic

Working on making it my best year yet. In the last year I went from $24 MRR to $76 MRR. I shipped 3 apps I have a new app Tobi in review (hoping that's reviewed by August 1st) Far away from my $1000 MRR goal I set last October, but I'm inching my way there. #iosdev #buildinpublic

I think it's time to start building out social pages for Tobi. Gotta start building the hype and being able to reach people where they are. Since starting the home buying process, I've been hit with so many DIY and home reno reels that I feel like Tobi's gotta be on instagram at least. #shipaton

So this is the first thing you see when you open Tobi. It doesn't really tell you much. When a user taps on the 1st button, they get walked through making a home and adding a task, but I feel like there might need to be some lead up. What do yall think? #shipaton #buildinpublic
