And here's a counter example. Notice how the white highlights & inking are trying to achieve the same results but are completely different between the two pics. Ditto the thicker lineart on the edge between the torso and stomach. Why would you completely redo the work to make it look the same?(4/5)
I'm going to use @saidthesaisio.bsky.social 's YCHs as an example (apologies in advance). Look at the lineart, highlights and shading, they're reused between pictures, except the parts adapted to fit the character like the elbow tuft. It saves time, but it IS his work. Good job Saisio. (3/5)
The whole point of a YCH and why they go for a lower price than standard commissions is that you have a base piece you make adjustments to. You can reuse chunks of inking, flats and shading and adjust the rest. You don't need to sketch a whole new pose or completely redo the rendering. (2/5)

This last example is from @andythebear01.bsky.social , who has been called out for AI use a million times, and is STILL taking people's money to render their YCHs with AI. I encourage you all to support artists that actually do their job. (5/5)
