I love DC; I really do. But these three alerts simultaneously are … a lot.
It was a really bad air day for DC. A pollution double whammy. Not only did smoke pollution reach code purple (very unhealthy) levels this AM and hover at code red this PM, but ground-level ozone, another pollutant, spiked to code red this afternoon. This is not something we can remember seeing.
You can't help but feel for Cape Verde🇨🇻 Vozinha delivered one of the greatest goalkeeping performances in World Cup history, making eight saves, including a stunning stop from Lionel Messi's free kick, to keep his country dreaming🧤🔥
🥵 DC hotter than 99% of all observations in the country with the last reading of 102. www.capitalweather.com/weather-now/
🔥Record high of 102 today for DC. Wiped out prior high mark of 101 in 1898! Low of 80 this morning will also be a record for the date. Heat index still 105-110ish at 540pm (sorry). At least as bad tomorrow. Updates at capitalweather.com. (Photo by angela n.)
This offsides call last night ends up being what sends Iran home instead of moving on.
