Revealed: the unsafe doctor substitutions putting patients at risk. We need NHS leadership to wake up. Hospitals knowingly using doctor substitutes, following years of shambolic workforce planning by successive governments, is a serious threat to patient safety.

A clear majority of consultants voted for strike action in July, and we're finally getting round the table for talks with Government. Helen Neary explains that, although talks are going well, we still need more movement on key issues. All our concerns need to be addressed to avoid industrial action.

Well, I for one am an economist who supports rent controls! Here’s why 🧵: Markets only work well if: -buyers & sellers have roughly equal power -producers respond to price signals & expand supply in response to scarcity -buyers can walk away if prices get too high

Ash Sarkar: "The one thing the govt could do to improve the lives of young people is introduce some rent controls" Govt minister Jonathan Reynolds: "No economist supports rent controls" There you have it. Are you a young person trapped paying exorbitant rent? The Labour govt says f**k you.

Dr Sridharan Suresh took his own life after being notified by the GMC that he was under investigation. We are supporting an appeal all the way to the Supreme Court in a pivotal case regarding duty of care.
